First saw this book and its author featured on Dr. Oz. I don't typically buy things because they are recommended on a television show but what she spoke about made sense. There is a ton of great information in this book from a doctor that takes into account the whole person; a common sense meets science approach. The book is divided into three parts; Digestion 101, What's Gone Wrong In Your Gut? and On The Path To Gutbliss. She includes a list of foods to avoid (SAD GAS) Soy, Artificial Sweeteners, Dairy, Gluten, Alcohol and Sugar, foods to limit, and foods to include. A worthwhile investment.

Dr. Chutkan definitely knows what she's talking about. She explains the how's and why's for the foods and drinks she recommends. It isn't a crazy or weird diet that's supposed to magically make you look like a Barbie (or Ken) doll. It's simple, realistic, and easy to do. It won't cost a fortune and the foods are easy to find anywhere. The main thing is to stop the pain and bloating, but, in addition, you will slim down some. And if you exercise too, you're going to look and feel better than you have in years! Go for it! You can do it!

This is a fantastic book, I'm a GI nurse and for me it was so informative and makes perfect sence from what I hear all day from my patients and expirence myself with my own body. This book has helped me understand what's happening and why. I have purchased several copies of this book and have given ito friends and recommended it to patients. I think it's a life changer

This book has totally changed my stomach. My stomach shrunk down about 2 sizes within about 20 days. The doc has you do the plan for 10 days. You will notice a considerable difference within 10 days but if you can do 20...you will be most impressed and it will trigger a shift in both your mind and body. She is a genius. I literally have no more bloating and I am quite regular now...lol! I have continued to eat the way she recommends in the book about 80% of the time and I have been able to remain bloat free. I actually really enjoy eating according to her recommended plan. It's pretty tough at first because you'll wonder if there is anything you can eat but if you follow her plan you will be singing her praises. I also view food very differently now and what I prefer has started to change as well. If you are having problems with bloating and your gut expanding, this is the book for you, especially if you are a woman. Another benefit is that my skin started having a nice glow and the minor acne I was having went away...crazy I know but true. Get this book...you won't be sorry but you do have to stick with it!

Wow! What a wonderful find! SO refreshing to see a comprehensive work that is also a "great read." I truly began with "Acknowledgments," and kept reading right through the second chapter--unusual for me. The author's credibility is amazing, and her care and concern for others shines through each section. HIGHLY recommend!

If you know nothing about how your alimentary canal works this is a great book. Clarifies a LOT of what MDs don't tell you and why tests are needed. Also, what does NOT work.

This book is loaded with useful information, some of which was new to me. I will follow many of Dr. Chutkan's suggestions which happily agreed with most advice from my gastroenterologist. However, the 10 day plan at the end almost seems like an afterthought. Rather than give 10 days of menus, I think that specifying types of foods and portions for each meal and snack is easier to follow.

Easy to read. Easy to understand. Easy to follow plan. What's not to like? FINALLY, a book that says what is wrong and delivers natural ways to take care of your body. I am already enjoying more health and vitality in just a few short weeks.
