This book is wonderful and is a book that everyone should own. I fell in love with it and have enjoyed the recipes for Challah. There are so many good recipes and the book is infused with inspiring wisdom and insight for living life well. Many of the ideas about what it means to be a woman in today's world and a nurturer to others I find both refreshing and energizing. I highly recommend this cookbook to anyone who wants to enrich their Shabbat, family and life. Also, I am enjoying another book by this author, The Rising Life, and highly recommend it as well.This is the only book you need for all things Challah! My family loves all the recipes we have tried and each week they say they have a new favorite. The instructions for braiding all different types are clear and easy to follow. You will be glad you bought this book and it will be a favorite for families for years to come.
In love with book, its a beautiful book and not just talking abiut the pictures!!!! Made the classic Challah recipe which I have to tell you I was a little skeptical about since my usual recipe calls for almost double the amount of yeast but just had a roll (because I just had to taste test) and its soooooooo good. Cant wait to try the other recipes!!!!!

Im so excited... This is the best bread book ever !! Beautiful work by Rebbetzin Rochie Pinson, she really put her heart into this book and it shows. Just breath taking artistry in all aspects; from the photos, to the pages of artisan recipes, the cover even has a raised section, some paper is textured, lovely ribbon to mark your spot, 35+ braiding patterns, prayers, secrets to ingredients, so much more and all in one book !! This is a must have for any kitchen.
This book is amazing, both in aesthetic beauty and deep inspiring content. I was trying different recipes to learn how to make challah each week, and once I got this book I found my go to. I made the honey apple challah for Rosh Hashana and it was devoured within minutes- sooo good! I will use this for each Shabbos and holiday- thank you for this book!
So wonderful! While definitely a cookbook, and a beautiful one at that, I’m hesitant to call it a cookbook, because it is so much more. The first part provides a MindShift in terms of how we view challah, and the process of challah baking, particularly as it relates to our roles as Jewish women. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone who would enjoy a refreshing and revitalizing perspective on the sacred act of challah making.
This cookbook is not only a cookbook. It’s truley a work of art. You can see Rochie really put her whole heart and soul into this book. There is so much she’s teaches and shares about nurturing life which in turn is expressed by the intentions in baking challah. As well she’s has so many different types of challah, with different types of flours and sourdough. She also teaches you how to make it special by add many different fillings. And then teaches you how to shapes it in so many different and beautiful designs. The photography is so artistic and by each challah there’s a not of which page to turn to in order to learn how to braid it in that shape. She though of every detail from the cover to cover. There’s even a bookmark so you can save that special recipe or keep your place where you were reading. And then of course she’s teaches you the Halacha behind everything. Trial ya work of art and lifetime of learning. It’s really a beautiful book.
I have been trying to find a Challah recipe that is easy to follow, delicious, gorgeous and my family and friends love. I found it! RISING and Rochie (author) go hand in hand! This cookvook is more than the recipes offered. It’s an insightful cookbook that delves deep into the mystics of bread making. It teaches us to be patient (allowing the dough to rise, to be mindful (separated the dough and saying a prayer) and kneading - another act of patience and strength.
