My boys are HUGE Hamilton fans and that's lead to loving all things Revolutionary War times. We've read pretty much every age appropriate Hamilton book out there, so I was excited to see this new one released. We even pre-ordered it. When we first read it, I actually thought the pages were printed out of order. It sort of dives into his teen years and then backs up. It's weird. Also- I sort of feel like if my boys didn't know all that they do from listening to the musical obsessively and reading everything we could get our hands on, this book might not really make sense. I mean- I know it's an easy reader- and can't include lots of info- but it seems weird and disjointed. The illustrations are great, but honestly that's about all it has going for it.

We got this for our six year old daughter who is really into the Hamilton musical. It tracks the story well and skips the bits that that we also skip on the soundtrack (affair, losing his son). Good companion book for a young Hamfan.

My son loves history and government stuff (first grade) and they are learning about National landmarks and buildings, etc (like the Liberty bell, Lincoln Memorial, US Constitution). There are many new words for him to learn. I am sure this will be read multiple times!

My daughter was so excited to receive this in the mail today. She's obsessed with the Broadway show & had a lot of fun making connections between the song lyrics & the pages of this summarized biography.

I was very disappointed when I bought this for my grandson, started to read it aloud to him and discovered that it began on page 4. The beginning makes no sense with the missing text. Had to return this one. I'm surprised that an editor could release a book with three pages missing.

My three grandaughters, ages 4 to 8, are into everything Hamilton thanks to the hit Broadway play and its music. This book brought even more awareness of Hamilton to their young minds, and was a resounding hit!

My second grade daughter had to do a biography about Alexander Hamilton and this was the only book we could find that she could read herself. It have a great overview of Hamilton's life, still telling the story in a child friendly way. The biggest issue I had is that the book seemed to have a misprint as it was missing a page.

Easy to read and my 6 year old loves it. He is a fan of the musical and this was a great brief story of Secretary Hamilton's life.
