I just started reading this book and every black person mentioned seems to have hazel or green eyes, long & curly hair and the author just seems very color struck at times. I'm also from Chicago but at some point I got tired of the constant references. I thought reading this would lighten my mood but it just gave me a headache. The fact that everyone has all the wonderfully colored eyes makes this too unreal for words especially when we should embrace all tones of our blackness. We don't all have long curly hair and hazel green eyes... So unrealistic and COLOR STRUCK
I only question wether it was an adult or teenager writing. I honestly found it amusing but doctored. Everyone has to be "fine" because they have colored eyes? Are we not old enough to call our sexual preferences what they are. There was too much to guess. This wasn't what I had hoped for. Amateur at best.
This is a tease. The author took one book and broke it into four “booksâ€. I find that practice profit driven. The length of the book is that of one book. Part one is designed to get you invested into the read so you will have an interest in finding out what happens next. I won’t call it a cliffhanger because part 1 is not long enough to be considered a book and the reader isn’t given enough to be satisfied with this offering. There isn’t enough character development. The heroine is given obvious clues about her new love interest but she becomes so entranced by his joy stick that she ignores her better judgement. The hero is hardly laying low rather he is laying down mega bucks at a five star hotel in expensive New York and wining and dining the heroine with finery. The author seems to have an obsession with attributing light colored eyes to her characters to define them as fine which is not a celebration of the varied beauty of black people who don’t have grey, hazel, or green eyes. However, she goes send the message that curves are desirable on a woman.I am so turned off by authors who choose financial gain over investing in their craft to produce a quality read. As a result, this author will not receive a penny from me. If people stop buying these book installments in favor of completed books, authors will be forced to write and sell completely books once again.
It was kinda boring! it had some great plots and storylines but they rushed alot of it or dragged out certain parts which made it boring! i had to plow through it to finish it! I'm not even interested in reading part two.
This belongs in Playboy or Playgirl. Consists mostly of drawn out sex scenes, nothing of substance. Big disappointment of what could have been a great book. Author should have delved deeper into main character's background, family, career, something to make the reader empathize and relate.
This story moved really fast for me, I can't determine if it's because I couldn't stop reading it or if it is a short story. Either way it's a definite page turner. I think Jazzy should have done a little more homework but instead she got dickmatized instead. Hope it doesn't come back and bite her in the end. Que was blessed with the gift of gab along with being fine seems his charm and charisma can get to any woman. I must admit I am curious about his angle/motives his feelings seem genuine. I guess I'll see in the next installment.
Short, and dumb. Super short of maybe I read fast. I'm not sure if part two is worth the read
There was something missing in this book. The sex was hot, but it moved too fast. I didn't expect the climax. I expected Que to be some wealthy business tycoon. To me, the author didn't take enough time building her character. How can a burglar live so openly and be so recognizable without having a good cover? No Sweat
